How myBcon works

Discover the hidden story behind every object or place

myBcon uses Bluetooth low-energy to transmit information to nearby smartphones. This allows you to receive information about any object or place just by being in proximity. Simply open the myBcon app on your smartphone and experience the world in a new way.

myBcon APP works online or offline. An Internet connection is only required for the setup and updates. Once the update is done, the myBcon app will work offline.

Wherever you see myBcon logo, open the app to communicate with the nearby myBcon. You will receive information that is linked to the myBcon as text or text-to-speech.

*** Internet connectivity is required for initial SETUP and UPDATE ***

1 - Download and install the myBcon app from App Store or Google Play

(Enable Bluetooth and location)

2 - Open myBcon app (app opens to setup page)

3 - Tap the myBcon Server box, and select the location server from the drop-down list

(global.mybcon.net is the default server)

4 - Check Speech Enabled box for text-to-speech

6 - Press UPDATE (you should see Update OK)

"Update OK" indicates a successful setup or update. If there is no internet connectivity or connectivity with the server, it will say "server error."

7 - Press HOME (app MUST be on 'HOME page' for app to work)

How to select a different location server

Tap CLEAR, then Tap the myBcon Server box and select the desired location server from the drop-down list.

Press UPDATE (you should see Update OK)

Category Filter

Tap the Category Filter box to select or deselect categories. Only myBcons for categories that are selected will you be able to connect with.
